Getting some sun

The nurses were not sure at first, but we found out we don't have a pneumonia issue, so that is good.  He does have jaundice so he needs to catch his rays.  It happens to a lot of new people, so that is not too crazy.  He will probably have to bring a "light suit" home with him when he comes.  They rotate him every half hour in the "sun" to make sure he is taken care of.

This is a picture of him with his fancy super suit on.  It is mostly a birthday suit, but he does have a nice mask.  Most super heros leave their eye slots open, but I guess he is not really into that.  Hopefully his eyes will mature properly, but it is way too far out to tell that for sure.  If you look closely, you can see that he is pretty furry.

I do have large fingers, but my ring could definitely work as a bracelet.  The tube by his neck goes into his mouth and into his stomach.  They give him mom's milk when they can, but otherwise they have this sugar/protein/carbo drink for him.  I want to see if I can get some for race days.

Since he is not around, we made a little corner of the house for the little tyke.  With LE we just put her in the corner of the living room, so it is not too odd that he gets a corner of the kitchen (or is it the dinning room?).

  2. I am glad pneumonia is not an issue! I'd take jaundice over that :) I love the Shane Shrine. Do you have some things from you/your house for him at the hospital? Brianna, after talking to you the other day I had this thought: It is great to have so many experienced and educated nurses and specialists helping you. What a blessing! But there is also something to your mother's intuition, so don't be afraid to speak up. There was one nurse that just didn't mesh with me. Also, when Anika was bigger and doing well, there were a few times that I wish I had just sat and held her longer. It seemed liked the nurses were always encouraging us to put her back so she didn't get cold or this or that. But I am quite sure that she would have been fine if not better off with us holding her longer (at that point). Not that you will have the same experience, but if there is something that doesn't sit right with you, speak up! Good luck! You are in our prayers :)

  3. You four are in our prayers. You guys surely have A LOT going on. So we are here if you need help packing/moving, watching LE, a dinner or few, or just anything. I don't even know what would help you guys, but we're just a call away. Also, we just live in Sugar House, so if you want to just drop LE off on your way to the hospital or what no feel free to. I am home all day, every day. I know you have lots of family around, but don't hesitate to ask.
